Good Measure Meals - Day 5
Jamie Temple
On the menu for our fifth full day using Good Measure Meals:
Raspberry pancakes with raspberry sauce and cheesy scrambled eggs
Chicken hoppin’ John with roasted okra and southwest corn bread
Seasoned chicken breast with orange Israeli couscous, sauteed Prince Edward blend
Breakfast - Top left photo - The raspberry pancakes and sauce were delicious and the eggs reheated surprisingly well.
Lunch - Top right photo - I have never heard of a “hoppin’ John” before, and I was nervous about it since it looked like a sloppy conglomeration (black eyed pea and rice dish). I was surprised to enjoy eating this meal.
Dinner - Bottom photo - The flavor of this meal was good. I would have broiled the chicken breast if I had more time. The couscous was delicious with a tangy orange flavor. The Prince Edward blend (green and yellow beans and carrots) was good and reheated well. Nothing for the freezer this time.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Good Measure Meals. It was extremely convenient to just open the fridge, pull out a container, heat it up, and eat within just a few minutes.
I highly recommend ordering a full week of 3 meals per day when time is tight and good food is necessary (new moms, people recovering from surgery, etc.) *great gift idea. The dinner-only option may be more economical for those who just need to reclaim some of their afternoons or don’t want to spend time cooking every day.
The target market for Good Measure Meals is individuals, but it would be nice to see couple or family packs in the future since ordering meal plans for each person in a family would get costly very quickly.
